Catalogue note
During the 1970-early 80thies I travelled to New York frequently and as a young fashion designer
from London where I had a boutique and made clothes and shoes/boots for many well known Rock stars Santana,Mercury,G Harrison,Black Sabath,Frank Zappa,Hendricks just to name few.
So I was invited to many Art Gallerys openings, vernisages and many parties I met Warhol,Basquiat,Liechtenstein,Haring and was able to buy few artworks from this artist
and thats when I bought this wooden panel from what Basquiat explained he made up of
remnants of wood he found on building sites and manage to fox the together,he was probaly the first recycling artist, and used whatever materials he could find on the street,as we all know he didnt have much funds to buy any at the beginning of his career.
