The Work

Catalogue note

A rare and captivating hand carved Colombian emerald sculpture, The Prince (Abeyan) embodies the youthful spirit, vitality, and boundless potential of the legendary Al Khamsa Arabian horse lineage. Representing the spirited archetype among the ancestral bloodlines, the Abeyan horse is celebrated for its agility, intelligence, and energetic character.

Carved from a natural Colombian emerald weighing 266.28 carats, The Prince originates from the renowned emerald deposits of the Boyacá region of Colombia. Its vibrant green coloration reflects the legendary Colombian "Green Fire", a natural brilliance that has fascinated collectors and royalty for centuries.

The sculpture portrays the young horse in an alert and dynamic posture, conveying movement, confidence, and the promise of future greatness. Unlike the commanding presence of the King or the refined elegance of the Queen, The Prince expresses youthful energy and determination, symbolising the continuation of a noble lineage.

Hand carved to preserve the primary c-axis of the crystal, ensuring maximum structural strength. Sharp growth zoning and distinctive hydrothermal markers verified by Gulf Gem Lab.
